The Accounting Services Division within the City of Toronto (the City) is responsible for delivering the City's financial reporting obligations and ensuring that the City's financial transactions are accounted for in accordance with the Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).
The Division's Corporate Financial Reporting section is seeking a Financial Analyst:
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting Services, the Financial Analyst (FA) will be responsible for supporting the City’s tangible capital asset (TCA) reporting process. Specifically, you will serve as a financial advisor to an assigned portfolio of City divisions and the City’s consolidated entities to provide interpretations of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), to support the overall evaluation of the City’s capital expenditures and related projects.
The Division's mandate calls for a level of expertise acquired through the completion of or participation in the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program offered by CPA Ontario or another provincial body. Such a background will have included knowledge and experience with GAAP, subject matter expertise in TCA reporting processes, internal control assessments, and the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
