About this role
As a DevOps engineer at Level Data, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining infrastructure to support service delivery across multiple stacks. You will work closely with several teams, including Software Engineering and Security, to provide a stable and secure hosting stack for some of the best-loved software services in the K-12 Education market.
Your day-to-day duties will include working with several cloud environments, including AWS and Azure, as well as datacenter environments. You will be expected to utilize modern technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) and to be flexible in finding solutions across a variety of environments. This will involve both supporting customer-facing production environments, as well as internal tooling to be used by technical teams.
This is a mid-level position. You will own well-scoped work end to end with limited supervision, and contribute to larger initiatives under the direction of senior engineers. The role suits someone with solid hands-on fundamentals who is ready to grow into broader system ownership, and who is comfortable asking questions, learning in the open, and partnering with Software Engineering teams on day-to-day delivery.
## Responsibilities
- **Infrastructure Implementation & Support:** Build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments. Contribute to design discussions and implement changes that follow established platform standards and patterns.
- **CI/CD Pipeline Development:** Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Flux CD, GitLab, and Azure DevOps. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, improve build reliability and speed, and apply existing pipeline and release standards.
- **Automation & Tooling:** Write and maintain automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages. Identify repetitive manual work on the team and replace it with tooling.
