About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Scientist to join our Research & Development team at Veracyte. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of digital pathology AI models (DPAI) focused on oncology applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning algorithms using whole slide imaging (WSI) data to predict clinical outcomes and morphological features, ensuring models are biologically explainable. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to understand clinical needs, identify relevant datasets, and translate complex data into actionable insights. As a technical leader, you will oversee project execution, mentor junior team members, and contribute to peer-reviewed publications, all while advancing Veracyte’s mission to revolutionize cancer diagnostics through innovative AI solutions.
