Job Description

The Data Governance and Management (DGM) Specialist supports the implementation and day-to-day execution of enterprise DGM practices while enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This role serves as the operational backbone of Data Governance and Management, combining governance support, data management execution, stewardship, coordination, and data analysis. It ensures that data is accurate, consistent, well-managed, and fit for business use by embedding governance standards into daily operations and systems.

The specialist works closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, IT, and the Data Strategy & Analytics team to translate policies into actionable processes, monitor data quality, maintain metadata and reference data, and ensure smooth data flow across systems.

The role is expected to act as a flexible, cross-domain data steward (as needed) and coordinator, adapting to evolving business needs and supporting both operational and analytical data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Governance Operations & Coordination

• Support implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
• Maintain governance artifacts repository (policies, templates, guidelines, RASCI, business rules)
• Track action items, deliverables, and governance timelines across stakeholders
• Coordinate governance activities, meetings, and working sessions
• Ensure alignment and follow-through across Data Owners, Stewards, and IT teams

2. Data Quality (DQ) Management & Analysis

• Monitor, assess, and report on data quality metrics, trends, and issues
• Perform data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and root causes
• Support data cleansing, validation, and remediation activities
• Develop and maintain DQ dashboards and reports
• Recommend and implement controls to prevent recurring data issues
• Track issue resolution and coordinate with responsible stakeholders
