Data / Analytics Infrastructure Engineer (Middle / Middle+)
Company: Klyp
Location: California (Remote)
Type: Contract
Remote: Yes

About this role
We're looking for an engineer to support and grow our analytics platform — ClickHouse, Kafka/MSK (CDC), Airflow, Superset, and a recommendation stack running on ECS Fargate.
What you'll do
Own and evolve your part of the analytics infrastructure end to end: keeping the data pipelines healthy, improving reliability, and shipping changes safely through code. You'll work close to production data, so care and precision are part of the job.
What we're looking for
- Solid Terraform — modules, state management, plan reviews
- Hands-on AWS: IAM, VPC/networking, ECS/Fargate, S3, Secrets Manager, KMS
- Operational experience with at least one columnar analytical database (ClickHouse, BigQuery, or Redshift)
- Experience with a streaming platform (Kafka/MSK); familiarity with CDC/Debezium is a strong plus
- Linux, Docker, CI/CD (GitLab CI), and comfortable scripting in Python/Bash
- Least-privilege thinking and a careful approach to production data as a default way of working
Nice to have
Airflow, Superset or other BI tools, MongoDB Atlas, observability (Prometheus / Grafana / CloudWatch), and experience operating in a shared AWS account with strict access boundaries.
About the level
This is a middle / middle+ role. You should be able to run your own area independently — but without direct access to dev/prod clusters (intentionally scoped permissions). We value attention to blast radius, a habit of reading other people's code, and documenting your own.
