Certified Public Accountant - Managing Partner

About this role

Our client is seeking a California-licensed CPA to serve as the Managing Partner and operating leader for the potential acquisition of an established CPA firm. This is a partner-level operating role responsible for leading a long-standing practice with a tenured staff and a diverse client base, including business entities, S corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.


The Managing Partner will be expected to step into the leadership seat immediately upon closing. Key responsibilities include managing daily operations, supervising staff, leading tax consultations, reviewing and signing returns, and overseeing reviews, compilations, and bookkeeping.


Required Qualifications

• Active California CPA license in good standing.
• Extensive experience with reviews, compilations, and corporate/partnership tax.
• Proven experience reviewing and signing staff-prepared returns.
• Prior CPA firm management or senior leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Partner, Principal, or Senior Manager.
• An existing professional presence in Los Angeles.
• Familiarity with UltraTax or Thomson Reuters systems.
• Interest in equity participation, profit sharing, or a long-term operating partner role.
