What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Advance reclamation projects addressing public health, safety, and environmental hazards from abandoned coal mine lands
• Draft environmental documents and assist in obtaining funding and rights of entry for reclamation work
• Ensure compliance with Virginia's state reclamation plan and relevant regulations
• Manage the interpretation and implementation of federal and state reclamation program rules
• Perform fieldwork that may involve navigating rough terrain and carrying equipment

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Knowledge of scientific, regulatory, and engineering principles related to abandoned coal mine reclamation
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including proofreading abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while paying attention to detail
• Capability to perform fieldwork, including operating a 4-WD vehicle and handling equipment
