About this role
AI Systems Engineer
Alternate titles: Product Operations Engineer, Internal Tools Developer
The role
We're looking for a highly detail-oriented builder to own our internal systems: CRM, automations, and the tooling our sales and operations teams run on daily. You'll scope, build, and maintain these systems using AI-assisted development, moving fast without breaking what works.
Ideal candidates have led the buildout of a CRM or core internal platform at a small company and are comfortable owning both the technical work and the process design behind it.
Requires at least 5 hours of daily overlap with 9-5 PST.
What we're building
Meadow is a licensed psilocybin service center in Portland operating under Oregon's Measure 109 framework. Almost everything that runs the business is built in-house.
Client-facing: a multi-step application funnel, a medication screener with a taper readiness score, prescription intake with drug autocomplete, and an eligibility assessment tool that gates who we can serve.
Internal: a facilitator portal with role-based access, a custom booking system tied to calendars, a capacity dashboard for scheduling across facilitators, a sales pipeline for our setter and closer team, and an accounting tool that produces our P&Ls.
Most of this is Next.js, Supabase, Vercel, and API glue between systems, built quickly with AI-assisted tooling. We recently moved off our third-party CRM, so a meaningful part of this role is owning what replaces it.
The work is a mix of net-new builds and hardening what exists. Since these tools touch clinical intake and regulated compliance requirements, correctness matters more than speed. That's why the detail orientation is non-negotiable.
Required experience
- 3+ years building production web applications, with at least one internal platform or CRM you owned end to end
- Fluent with AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) as a primary workflow, not an occasional assist
