AI Engineer (Junior)

About this role

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an AI Engineer Junior at MedBoard. The selected candidate will support the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions. Key day-to-day tasks include building and improving LLM applications, developing natural language processing (NLP) solutions, and collaborating with the software development team to integrate AI applications. You will work on real production systems such as semantic search, document understanding, summarization, and question-answering pipelines. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute directly to production systems used by healthcare and pharma professionals worldwide.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field
• Strong Python skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Basic understanding of NLP and Large Language Models
• Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar (or strong interest in learning them)
• Familiarity with vector databases and embeddings
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals (APIs, Git, testing)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Elasticsearch or search systems
• Familiarity with medical or healthcare-related systems and processe.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or open-source LLMs
• Personal projects using LLMs (chatbots, document search, agents)
