About this role
Advanced Specialist, Agile Business Analyst (Business Change Expert)
Take ownership of change delivery for a major portfolio within the Pearson
Qualifications Transformation Programme, helping colleagues understand, adopt
and sustain changes across product, technology and operations. Also known in the
market as: Business Change Expert; Business Change Manager; Change Lead; Senior
Change Practitioner.
About the Role
Pearson is seeking an experienced Business Change Expert to join the Pearson
Qualifications Transformation Programme. You will own the people side of change
for one principal portfolio, working in lockstep with its Portfolio Lead and
Product Manager to turn programme activity into a clear, practical and
integrated change plan.
You will coordinate readiness, training and engagement, identify risks and
barriers, monitor adoption and bring evidence back to the portfolio so the
approach can be adjusted. Alongside delivery, you will help strengthen a
thriving community of change practice by sharing best practice, challenging
established approaches and supporting colleagues to improve.
This is an individual-contributor expert role. It does not include line
management, but it requires credibility, influence and the ability to work
through a complex matrix at pace.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and deliver the integrated change plan for an assigned transformation
portfolio.
* Partner closely with Portfolio Leads, Product Managers and cross-functional
contributors.
* Assess change impacts, readiness, training needs, risks, issues and
dependencies.
* Create practical mitigation plans and remove barriers that could affect
delivery or adoption.
* Coordinate training and engagement so impacted teams understand what is
changing and why.
* Monitor adoption, usage and feedback, then adjust the strategy where evidence
shows a need.
* Apply consistent change frameworks, tools and governance while adapting them
to context.
* Contribute fresh thinking, coaching and best practice to the wider change
community.
*
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience as a change practitioner delivering complex,
cross-functional transformation programmes.
* Evidence of personally owning change plans from impact assessment through
readiness, engagement and adoption.
* Experience operating in a matrix and influencing senior and cross-functional
stakeholders without direct authority.
* Practical governance, risk and dependency management, with clear examples of
removing barriers.
* Strong analytical and data literacy, using evidence to shape decisions and
reporting.
* Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills across varied
audiences.
* Adaptability, resilience and sound prioritisation in a fast-moving programme
environment.
* Experience with product-led or technology-enabled change is highly relevant.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; relevant change, project, PMP or
Agile certification is preferred.
*
