Position Summary

The
Accountant
is responsible for preserving the foundation’s financial integrity by accurately maintaining financial records by validating, reconciling and recording transactions in the general ledger. This role ensures timely financial reporting, is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, and supports investment and grant-related financial processes. The Accountant plays a key role in maintaining compliance with financial best practices and regulatory requirements while supporting the foundation’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial processes, including preparing journal entries, bank recs and roll forward schedules.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, including Charitable Distribution Target Report.
• Support the preparation of foundation financial statements and reports for the Board.

Accounts Payable & Cash Flow

• Process and manage accounts payable for all payments including grants, ensuring payments are timely, accurate and applied to the correct accounts and funds.
• Reconcile Foundation credit card monthly.
• Track grant contingent payments.
• Prepare cash requirement reports.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with internal approval processes.
