About The Role
The Staff Accountant plays a vital role within the Fleet accounting team by supporting the full cycle of financial processes essential to the department’s operations. This position involves preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, analyzing variances, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The Staff Accountant collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and external auditors, to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL, or other designated locations for collaboration and training purposes.


Qualifications

• Knowledge of or ability to learn Oracle Financials or similar financial software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions)
• Understanding of accrual-based accounting principles
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public or private full-cycle accounting
• Experience with month-end closing processes and variance analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
