The Details
The Staff Accountant reports to a Manager, Accounting and is responsible for a variety of accounting functions such as performing accurate and timely Monthly Journal Entry Preparation, General Ledger Account Reconciliation and Schedule Maintenance, Bank Reconciliations, Audits and Reporting. The ability to generate reports by pulling data from multiple systems, consolidating, and analyzing the data is required. Critical thinking and adherence to internal deadlines as well as state required deadlines is a must.
What Will You Do**
- Support timely monthly/quarterly financial close, including recording assigned journal entries, completing balance sheet/GL account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts
- Accurate and timely preparation and maintenance of journal entry templates, with commentary explaining results and analyzing variances and trends
- Provide audit support and fulfill SOX/internal control requests from internal and external auditors
- Researches and analyzes financial variances as a result of premium reconciliation process and report appropriate corrective action
- Coordinate with external partners and brokers on monthly bordereaux and settlement statements
