As a Software Engineer III - Android/Kotlin at JPMorganChase within the BUSINESS ACCESS & TOOLS, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Android features using **Kotlin/Java**, delivering high-quality user experiences across devices and OS versions.
• Lead implementation for moderately complex initiatives (UI flows, data/state management, offline/error handling) and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Integrate with backend services (REST/GraphQL), implement secure authentication flows, and ensure safe handling of local storage and network communications.
• Build and maintain **automated tests** (unit, instrumentation, UI) and improve app stability (crash reduction, ANR/performance tuning).
• Drive **CI/CD** improvements for Android builds (lint/static analysis, test automation, signing/release workflows) and use **JP Morgan Chase-approved AI-assisted tools** (e.g., Claude AI where approved) to accelerate refactoring, test generation, and documentation with rigorous validation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Strong hands-on Android development experience with **Kotlin**, Android SDK, and modern architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM/Clean Architecture).
• Experience building UI using **Jetpack Compose** and/or XML, including accessibility and responsive layout practices.
