Software Engineer (Deal Flow & Underwriting)

About this role

• The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating mission-critical systems that power our deal and application lifecycle. This role supports our engineering organization by building scalable backend services and modernizing our platform from a monolithic architecture to micro-services
• Own a slice of the product end-to-end — from requirements through development, QA, and production
• Execute day-to-day responsibilities related to building and extending backend services and React frontends within a micro-service architecture with accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
• Analyze, review, or maintain services, APIs, and data models to support business needs
• Partner with product managers, QA, designers, and engineers across teams to support shared priorities and cross-team projects and ensure alignment
• Communicate updates, risks, blockers, and recommendations clearly and proactively
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience
• Use data, judgment, and business context to inform decisions and recommendations
• Manage assigned work independently and follow through on commitments, deadlines, and deliverables
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Perform other role-related responsibilities as assigned and aligned with business needs
