## Job Summary

The Software Development Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications across all layers of the software stack, from database development through front-end functionality. Working within an Agile development environment, this role partners with business and technical teams to gather requirements, prototype solutions, implement enhancements, and perform unit testing to support application quality, reliability, and performance.

The Software Development Engineer II works across multiple projects and technical environments while collaborating with Product, UX, Engineering, and Architecture teams throughout the software development lifecycle. This position requires strong technical and problem-solving skills, adaptability to changing business and technology needs, and the ability to develop effective solutions to business and client challenges.

## Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications across multiple tiers of the software architecture.
• Support complex and highly visible development initiatives across multiple projects and technical environments.
• Gather and evaluate business and technical requirements to develop effective application solutions.
• Prototype, develop, test, and implement software solutions that address business and client needs.
• Design, develop, and extend back-end web services using JSON, .NET web services, SQL, and related technologies.
• Create, consume, maintain, and enhance RESTful APIs.
• Develop and execute unit tests to support application quality, reliability, and performance.
• Support application releases and development activities using Agile software development practices.
• Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices throughout the development lifecycle.
