Senior Software Engineer Microsoft Development Platform (DoD Programs)

About this role

Position Overview

The Senior Software Engineer supports Department of Defense (DoD) programs by designing, developing, securing, and maintaining mission-critical software solutions built on the Microsoft development ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in C#, .NET, SQL Server, JavaScript/EXT JS, and modern web development practices, along with disciplined engineering methods suitable for classified or sensitive environments. Experience integrating Kiro AI technologies is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong adherence to security, compliance, and documentation standards required in defense contracting. This position is remote-based with a team on the East Coast. Eastern time zone applicants are preferred. There is a possibility for occasional travel for meetings at government facilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Microsoft Platform Development
- Design and implement secure software solutions using C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, asp.NET and Visual Studio.
- Develop responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript, EXT JS, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Build secure RESTful APIs, services, and modular components aligned with DoD cybersecurity and architecture standards.
- Database Engineering
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases in controlled environments.
- Develop advanced T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and performance-tuned queries.
- Implement secure database schemas, access controls, auditing, and backup/recovery strategies compliant with DoD requirements.
