ROLE OVERVIEW The Senior Software Engineer, AI SLDC Platform joins a small team that runs the software delivery platform behind some of the largest programs in Fanatics Commerce, including Oracle integration, custom ERP development, and Product Lifecycle Management integration. The platform combines an in-house framework that turns early program ideas into specs and tickets an engineer or coding agent can execute, with the underlying Go and Python services, Temporal workers, knowledge pipeline, retrieval layer, MCP servers, and React app used to track delivery and capacity. This is a hands-on role in which you will own features from design through production, use coding agents daily, and take responsibility for what you ship. The Senior Software Engineer, Delivery Platform delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights. HOW WILL YOU DRIVE IMPACT Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes. Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams) • Partner with program managers and program teams to understand needs, agree on scope, plan the work, and set realistic timelines • Review code, keep peers current on the status of your work, and help the engineers around you • Document what you build and share it through demos and clear technical communication Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans) • Deliver platform features that give the Oracle integration, custom ERP development, and Product Lifecycle Management integration programs a dependable delivery lifecycle • Give engineering leaders reliable visibility into delivery and capacity across many teams and thousands of work items through the React tracking app • Build capacity and features so that additional programs can adopt the platform with confidence • Triage production issues quickly and find root causes, such as slow endpoints or stuck jobs Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit) • Build and maintain the knowledge pipeline, using Temporal workflows to pull content from Zoom, SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira into a searchable knowledge base with chunking, embedding, and indexing • Improve retrieval quality using curated evaluation datasets checked in CI • Develop MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that give agents read-only access to program and knowledge data, with caller identity propagated, access checked, and tool calls audited • Maintain the skill framework that program teams use to turn approved specs into tickets and compliance artifacts Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset) • Own features from design through rollout: break work into clear stories, design components, and write specs, API and schema contracts, and sequence diagrams • Make decisions independently, bringing in teammates when their input is needed • Use coding agents for production work, breaking features into pieces an agent can finish and holding generated code to the same review standard as hand-written code • Deliver on commitments and flag delays early AI & DIGITAL CAPABILITY We are building a future-ready organization. This role is expected to: • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING Required Qualifications: • 5+ years building and running production software, with deep expertise in at least one area of a stack like this one and willingness to work outside it • Strong in Python or Go, with relational database depth in schema design, migrations, and query performance • Comfortable designing APIs and working with containers and CI/CD • Experience shipping production code with LLM coding agents, including scoping tasks so an agent can finish them, supplying the right context, critically reviewing results, and knowing when to write the code yourself • Commitment to quality at speed: tests ship with every change, and you can identify what an agent got wrong and explain why • Experience running what you built, including live triage and diagnosing slow endpoints or stuck jobs • Hands-on experience with LLMs in real systems Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience WORK LOCATION Remote: As a fully remote role, the primary place of performance will be your residence or other approved remote location. At Fanatics, we operate with a BOLD mindset—We Build Championship Teams, we're Obsessed with Fans, we embrace a Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit, and we approach every challenge with a Determined & Relentless Mindset.
