Job Description
As a Senior Security Engineer in AbbVie’s Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) Architecture team, you will shape the organization’s security strategy, focusing on cybersecurity posture, hygiene, and the responsible use of AI to improve security outcomes at scale.


Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to improve cybersecurity posture and hygiene programs.
• Prioritize remediation efforts using a risk-based approach for configuration drift.
• Develop scripts to leverage application APIs for extracting hygiene and posture data.
• Create dashboards and alerts for stakeholders on configuration drift and remediation activities.
• Document CIS baselines based on internal requirements.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate systems into posture and hygiene programs.
• Drive platform compliance for continuous monitoring of assets.
• Apply AI and machine learning concepts in cybersecurity use cases.
• Ensure AI is used responsibly in posture workflows, validating insights and preventing overreliance.
• Adhere to corporate standards, including Code of Conduct and GxP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s with 5 years; or PhD with 0 years in information security or related functions.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity tools (Tenable, CrowdStrike, Windows Defender).
• Proficiency in Splunk for data analysis and security monitoring.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell with API integration.
• Expert knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, system administration, and security technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (CIS 18, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53).
