Senior Java Backend Developer (AWS) – Full Remote

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on designing, building, maintaining, and improving large-scale backend systems supporting a large-scale financial trading platform that includes Gold CFD (Contracts for Difference) Trading, Leveraged Trading Products, Binary Options / Binary Trading Products and Financial Derivatives and Speculative Trading Instruments.

The successful candidate will work extensively within an AWS-centric architecture while maintaining high standards of performance, reliability, security, and code quality. Documentation may be incomplete, outdated, or unavailable in certain areas of the system. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional investigative and analytical capabilities, enabling them to understand complex systems through source code analysis, runtime behavior, architecture patterns, logs, metrics, and stakeholder discussions.

You should be extremely detail-oriented and meticulous, strong sense of ownership and accountability, Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, analytical and methodical problem solver, professional and diplomatic communicator and self-driven and capable of operating with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Backend Development (70%)
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend services.
• Build and enhance APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems supporting trading operations.
• Develop robust integrations with AWS cloud services and internal platform components.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Design and implement efficient data models and access patterns within DynamoDB.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and identify root causes across distributed systems.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to long-term platform evolution.
