Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

About this role

• The Mastercard Foundry Research & Development team identifies, evaluates, and develops emerging technologies that shape the future of commerce
• This role combines hands-on software engineering, technical leadership, technology research, and rapid prototyping
• The Senior Software Engineer will design and build full-stack applications, lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and develop architectural solutions that support new commerce experiences from concept through market validation
• They will collaborate across engineering, product, and innovation teams to transform ideas into scalable solutions and technology platforms
• Develop full-stack applications and prototypes using modern technologies including React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Java, Spring Boot and Python
• Design, build and maintain scalable frontend applications, backend services and APIs that support new product concepts and innovation initiatives
• Lead technical initiatives from ideation through implementation, providing architectural guidance and engineering leadership across projects
• Create architecture diagrams, technical designs, and solution proposals to communicate complex concepts to engineering teams and leadership stakeholders
• Present technical concepts, prototype outcomes and architectural recommendations to senior engineering, product and business leaders
• Mentor junior engineers through technical coaching, code reviews, design reviews and engineering best practices
• Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on commerce, payments, and digital experiences
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions that validate new technologies, business opportunities, and product concepts
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, researchers, and external partners to bring ideas from concept through market validation
