Senior Financial Analyst – 2 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-routine journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, payroll, intercompany activity, and reclassifications.
• Prepare timely and accurate balance-sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Maintain clear supporting documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables.
• Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate unusual balances and period-over-period variances.
• Partner with AP, AR, payroll, FP&A, tax, and operational teams to obtain close inputs and resolve accounting issues.
• Support internal and external audit requests with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reconciliation quality, documentation, and controls.
• Assist with financial reporting, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed.
• Support and mentor junior accounting team members where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience working with accounting systems or ERPs such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.
