About this role
## Why Better. Why Now.
Better is rebuilding home finance as an AI-native platform—turning a process that once took weeks into something that can happen in seconds.
With over $110B in loans funded and $1.2B+ raised, we operate at real scale while rethinking how homeownership works from the ground up.
The category hasn’t caught up yet. That’s the opportunity.
A Better Opportunity
Better's engineering platform supports a large, multi-service monorepo and the teams that build and run it. We're looking for a senior DevOps engineer to make that platform reliable, secure, scalable, and easier to work with.
You'll manage infrastructure across the monorepo and its supporting services, from AWS and Kubernetes to CI/CD and developer tooling. We're building that foundation around AI, both the tools engineers rely on every day and the infrastructure our AI features run on. You'll partner with engineers across the organization to scale a growing SaaS business, support multi-tenant workloads, and make tradeoffs between reliability, performance, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Make AI a standard part of daily engineering, including coding, operations, incident triage, and documentation.
- Build and manage the company's shared AI infrastructure, including model access and governance, LLM observability and evals, and AI features that improve platform reliability, security, and triage.
- Provision Terraform-managed AWS infrastructure for a large multi-service monorepo.
- Operate production workloads on both Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS.
- Govern the package supply chain: artifact registries, dependency distribution, provenance, and registry migrations.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
- Drive cloud cost efficiency through cost attribution, commitment decisions, and rightsizing.
- Administer identity and access controls, including SSO, IAM policies, and access audits.
- Build and maintain observability, including OpenTelemetry pipelines...
