Responsibilities

You will build and modernize enterprise data pipelines and models on Google Cloud Platform to support analytics and AI initiatives. Additionally, you will mentor engineering staff and optimize data solutions for performance and cost-efficiency.

We’re looking for a Senior Data & AI Engineer to help transform how data is
built, moved and used across our business.

You’ll join us at an interesting point in our journey, helping modernise our
enterprise data landscape as we move workloads from established platforms onto
Google Cloud Platform, while building new data pipelines, models and foundations
for analytics and AI.

What you’ll do 

* Build modern data pipelines and transformations on GCP
* Develop scalable data models using BigQuery and dbt
* Modernise legacy workloads for our cloud environment
* Build and orchestrate pipelines through Cloud Composer
* Develop batch, streaming and event-driven data solutions
* Optimise data solutions for performance and cost
* Build reusable components for AI and agentic solutions
* Embed CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices
* Troubleshoot complex data and pipeline issues
* Partner with the business to understand data requirements
* Mentor engineers and uplift modern engineering practices
 

What you’ll bring  

* Demonstrated experience across data, analytics or AI engineering
* Strong SQL, Python and data modelling capability
* Experience building production data solutions in cloud environments
* GCP experience, or strong transferable cloud data platform experience
* Enterprise-scale data warehousing, ETL and migration experience
* Experience with modern transformation and orchestration tooling
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and modern engineering experience
* Confidence partnering with technical and business stakeholders
* Curiosity and an AI-first mindset towards building and problem-solving
