Job Description:
Transform technology into opportunity as a Senior Business Analyst at GDIT. Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career.
The Naval Enterprise Service Desk (NESD) program is deploying a cognitive Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform integrated with a COTS IT Service Management (ITSM) solution to consolidate Tier 1 IT service desks and automate incident resolution. As the Navy’s solution partner, GDIT is implementing leading-edge technology to support the Navy’s evolving business model.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with an agile team of product owners, system users, and developers to capture, document, and refine requirements that populate the Agile sprint backlog. The ideal candidate brings leadership, data analysis, and requirements analysis skills to ensure designed solutions align with business and mission objectives. Experience with service desks, ITSM, and AI is preferred; however, if you have strong business/technical analysis experience and a genuine interest in learning about new technologies, we’d like to speak with you. Because this is a client-facing role, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Senior Business Analyst the work you’ll lead the translation of Government stakeholders’ business needs into technical requirements that drive NESD Service Desk capabilities across the Cognitive AI platform, Contact Center, and ITSM suite.
Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business processes and functional requirements for NESD solutions.
Perform system function analysis to ensure capabilities align with stakeholder needs and Navy ITSM objectives.
Facilitate and collaborate with Government and Program stakeholders, system users, and development teams on design recommendations and documentation.
Coordinate across business and technology teams to ensure requirements are understood, traceable, testable, and prioritized within the product backlog.
Work with developers and engineers to translate functional requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and, where applicable, scripts or configuration details.
Partner with Cognitive AI, Contact Center, and ITSM developers to design integrated end-to-end solutions.
Maintain and organize requirements, user stories, and supporting artifacts in an agile work management platform (e.g., Jira).
Participate in and support agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews/close-out, and backlog refinement).
Review solution designs to verify alignment with requirements, stakeholder expectations, and program constraints.
Engage directly with Customer and Program stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage expectations, and validate proposed solutions.
Support testing activities (e.g., requirements validation, UAT support), ensuring defects are traced back to requirements and that acceptance criteria are met.
