Remote Staff Data Engineer - Core Migrations

About this role

Role:
Staff Data Engineer on the Migrations team, owning end-to-end client migrations from analysis to deployment.


Responsibilities:
Lead discovery and due diligence on legacy systems, reverse-engineer complex undocumented systems, resolve ambiguity, design and build migration pipelines with Airflow and Spark, make critical architectural decisions, ensure data correctness through automated reconciliation, and manage the entire migration program, including stakeholder alignment and UAT.


Qualifications & Skills:
8+ years in Data or Software Engineering, expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow, and cloud (AWS), experience with legacy ETL systems, large-scale data validation, and cross-functional coordination. Proficient in AI-assisted coding and clear technical communication.


Key Duties:
Own the migration lifecycle, develop scalable solutions, drive technical excellence, and mentor engineers to institutionalize best practices.
