Bad Robot Games is looking for a Principal Technical Designer, UX/UI who is a creative leader, systems architect, and champion of the player experience. We're looking for someone with deep expertise in implementing UI in Unreal Engine, a proven track record of shipping polished UI systems across multiple titles, and the ability to elevate craft and mentor the team around them. Experience collaborating with outsource studios is a bonus.
A portfolio that demonstrates a strong command of UX/UI implementation for AAA games, including examples of motion graphics, visual polish, and player-centered design is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define the technical vision and standards for UI implementation across the project, establishing scalable, reusable systems that the team builds on.
- Design and implement complex UI systems in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprints, building interfaces from the ground up.
- Architect, extend, and own the MVVM framework, integrating UI elements with data bindings and engineering frameworks, and guiding others in its use.
- Create and maintain UI layouts, including interactive elements such as buttons, and connect underlying gameplay logic.
