New Grad Software Engineer

About this role

Authentic helps insurance brokers create better insurance products for their clients. We provide the technology platform and behind-the-scenes support that lets brokers build custom insurance solutions for specific industries or customer groups. Think of us as the operating system that powers these specialized insurance offerings. For brokers, this means they can offer unique products their competitors don't have, earn more money, and spend less time on paperwork and administrative tasks. We handle the complex (technology, compliance, and partnerships with highly-rated insurance carriers), so they can focus on serving their customers and growing their business.


Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across our React frontend and Python/FastAPI backend
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to solve real customer problems
• Contribute to internal tools that help our team work more efficiently
• Work with data systems that drive risk assessment and claims decisions
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and team rituals

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field (recently graduated or graduating by Summer 2025)
• Experience building web applications (personal projects, coursework, or internships)
• Comfort working across the stack—you don't need to be an expert, but you're curious about both frontend and backend
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Ability to work on-site in our New York office

Nice to Haves

• Experience with React, Python, FastAPI, or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Interest in fintech, insurtech, or regulated industries
• Prior internship experience in fast-paced environments
