## About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join our team of dedicated professionals in Carlsbad, CA. This role supports a multifamily real estate portfolio and is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently meets month-end reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily or property management, and strong proficiency in Yardi Voyager.
## Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience; multifamily or property management experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager highly desired
- High school diploma required; a degree in Accounting is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and 10-key by touch
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including regular interaction with property management personnel, senior leadership, vendors, and lenders
- Client-service oriented; confident, proactive, and professional
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and follow up consistently
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under deadlines
## Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties, including chart of accounts maintenance, trial balance review, and journal entry processing
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of daily revenue reporting
- Manage accounts payable — verify invoices, confirm coding and approvals, and ensure vendors are paid on time
- Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts each month
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and daily treasury management across property bank accounts
- Record monthly accruals, prepaid expenses, and associated journal entries
