About this role
Jr Software Engineer - Mobile (Remote, US-Based Only)
Build software that matters.
At Pulsara, we build technology that helps healthcare teams communicate, coordinate care, and make critical decisions when every second counts. Our mobile applications put that technology directly into the hands of the people who need it.
We're looking for a Software Engineer – Mobile who enjoys building things, solving problems, and learning along the way. You'll work alongside an experienced team to develop and improve our Android and iOS applications, helping create software that's reliable, intuitive, and easy to use.
You don't need to know everything coming in. If you love figuring out how things work, enjoy turning ideas into working software, and want to see the impact of what you build beyond the screen, you might be exactly who we're looking for. Keep reading.
What is Pulsara?
Pulsara connects people when seconds matter.
Pulsara is a secure, user-friendly platform that connects care teams across departments and organizations. By replacing fragmented communications with one unified patient channel, Pulsara simplifies workflows, helps reduce treatment times and costs, and improves the experience for patients and caregivers.
Who we are:
Pulsara is a 100% remote team made up of people with backgrounds in technology, healthcare, emergency services, business, and beyond, united by a common purpose: to improve the lives of people in need and those who serve them.
Working remotely gives us flexibility, but great remote work takes more than being able to work from home. We communicate intentionally, collaborate across teams, take ownership of our work, and depend on one another to follow through.
We are a company that continues to evolve. We value people who are curious, comfortable learning, willing to challenge how things have always been done, and interested in helping us make both our product and the way we work better.

What You’ll Be Building
Pulsara isn't a single mobile application. Our technology environment includes:
📱 Native Android and iOS applications
💻 Web-based patient care, administration, and reporting tools
☁️ A highly scalable AWS cloud environment
🔌 Internal and public APIs
🗄️ Relational databases and complex data workflows
🔐 Secure, HIPAA-compliant systems connecting healthcare organizations
Mobile development here means understanding how applications, services, and workflows work together—not just writing code for a single screen.

📱 Build and improve mobile applications
Develop features, maintain functionality, and write clean, reliable code for our native Android and iOS applications.
💻 Write code and learn from feedback

🧩 Solve problems and troubleshoot issues
Investigate bugs, identify causes, and work with teammates to develop and verify solutions.
🤝 Collaborate throughout development
Work with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Test Engineers to clarify requirements, share ideas, and deliver quality software.
🎨 Create intuitive mobile experiences
Build with usability in mind, considering platform-specific design, customer workflows, and how mobile applications connect with APIs and other services.
