Junior Data Scientist - Generative AI and Japanese Language
This position is responsible for developing, testing, and evaluating Generative AI and Large Language Model applications that generate accurate, natural, and culturally appropriate Japanese-language outputs. The role will collaborate with an English-speaking technical team.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant field.
- College-level coursework in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or related subjects is required.
Experience
- 0-2 years; recent graduates with relevant coursework, academic projects, or internships are encouraged to apply.
Mandatory skills
- Native Japanese speaker, or equivalent native-level proficiency, with excellent speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Fluent professional English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
- Ability to assess Japanese AI-generated content for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, tone, context, and cultural appropriateness.
- Foundational knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Large Language Models.
- Programming experience in Python and familiarity with common data analysis libraries.
- Understanding of prompt design, structured testing, and qualitative and quantitative evaluation of LLM outputs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to document experiments and communicate technical findings clearly in English.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to cutting-edge Generative AI technologies.
Nice to have skills
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI platforms or models such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or open-source LLMs.
