Java Full-stack Developer – SDD & Microservices

About this role

JD : • Design and build backend microservices in Java and Spring Boot, exposing REST APIs (no SOAP). • Develop healthcare data-exchange functionality supporting HL7-based integrations with pharmacies, referral providers, and external vendors. • Write efficient SQL against PostgreSQL and SQL Server directly in the data access layer using JDBC (we intentionally avoid end-to-end work and are moving away from stored procedures). • Own quality end-to-end: write unit tests for all code you produce and integration/black-box tests for your APIs, using team frameworks (standardized QTF framework or lightweight HTTP REST client tooling). • Peer-test teammates’ changes as part of the JIRA workflow – our teams have no dedicated test engineers; developers test each other’s code. • Deploy services through fully templatized pipelines: start from a service template, supply configuration and Helm chart values, and ship to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). • Work in a spec-driven development (SDD) model using AI coding tools – primarily Claude Code CLI with reusable skills and specs – to generate, extend, and review code. Required Qualifications • Strong professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST-based microservice architectures. • Proficiency writing and tuning SQL (PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server); comfortable working directly with JDBC rather than through an ORM. • Solid grasp of microservice design principles – you should be able to whiteboard and defend a service design in a technical deep-dive interview. • Hands-on habit of writing unit and integration tests as part of every change (pull requests without unit tests are automatically flagged). • Experience with AI-assisted, spec-driven development – Claude Code preferred; strong Copilot experience is acceptable.
