The Business Analyst for Legal & Global Trade Compliance plays a critical role in advancing compliance, process modernization, and regulatory readiness across Legal and Global Trade functions. This analyst supports requirements discovery, workflow definition, data analysis, compliance validation, and continuous improvement of systems enabling legal operations, export controls, jurisdiction/classification processes, and trade compliance workflows.


This role partners closely with Legal, Global Trade, IT Service Owners, data analysts, product squads, and system integrators in an environment handling sensitive, export‑controlled information.




Requirements Gathering & Functional Analysis

• Lead discovery activities to capture business requirements for Legal and Global Trade initiatives, including classification, jurisdiction, data validation, export‑workflow needs, and compliance automation.
• Translate regulatory and legal obligations into actionable functional requirements across platforms (EMS, Appian, Legal systems).
• Partner with Business Relationship Managers and IT SMEs to clarify scope, resolve ambiguity, and ensure alignment with consent‑agreement expectations and GT modernization objectives.

Process Mapping & Compliance Workflow Support

• Document current‑state and future‑state workflows for jurisdiction/classification, contract/legal data handling, export review cycles, approvals, and case‑management workflows.
• Support Legal in defining mandatory data elements, structured workflows, and compliance checkpoints for ITAR/EAR, export‑controlled data, and global trade rules.

Data Analysis & Regulatory Readiness

• Analyze large datasets to support compliance-driven decisions.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and data summaries to support leadership visibility and regulatory inspections.
