FEDEX GROUND OPERATIONS MANAGER

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our FedEx Ground delivery business. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone who is willing to work 5–6 days per week and spend most days in the field supporting drivers, solving operational issues, and ensuring exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of a FedEx Ground delivery business.
• Work 5–6 days per week, including weekends as business needs require.
• Spend the majority of each workday on the road visiting routes, assisting drivers, and monitoring operations.
• Respond quickly to driver emergencies, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, customer concerns, and service failures.
• Coach, train, and mentor drivers to improve performance and ensure compliance with company and FedEx standards.
• Conduct ride-alongs and field observations to evaluate driver safety and service quality.
• Ensure all routes are dispatched efficiently and completed on time.
• Monitor route performance, service levels, pickups, and delivery metrics.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of drivers.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and attendance expectations.
• Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance providers, and FedEx management to resolve operational issues.
• Complete required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers, business partners, and FedEx personnel.
• Be available outside normal business hours when operational issues require management attention.
