## Job Description
The Division of Disease Control's mission is to safeguard the health of New Yorkers through identification, surveillance, treatment, control, and prevention of infectious diseases, which is achieved through varied and interrelated endeavors of its seven Bureaus. The Bureau of Division Management & Systems Coordination (DMSC) leads administrative, surveillance, informatics, preparedness, policy, communications, community engagement, and racial equity and social justice activities for the Division and guides the strategic use of Division resources to advance innovative and effective policies and programs.
Reporting to the Data Unit Director and working with a team of data scientists and business analysists in DMSC as well as Disease Control program staff, you will be developing automated data exchange and quality control processes to assure the integration of Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) and Electronic Case Reporting (ECR) data streams into surveillance platforms. These data form an integral part of the disease surveillance systems that is the basis of New York City's infectious disease control and prevention efforts.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Develop and maintain disease reporting data ETL pipelines
- Build and maintain data integration pipelines between reporting and surveillance systems
- Use Machine Learning and other suitable tools to make and record progress for anomaly detection
- Design and maintain data quality reporting systems
- Manage project requirements, timelines, deliverables, and prepare reports accordingly
