About the role
Trewox connects experienced professionals with flexible, paid projects in their field. AI teams use our experts to create, review and grade the data their models learn from.
We’re looking for experienced data engineers to bring their judgment to projects across data pipelines, warehousing and analytics. You won’t be building models. You’ll use what you already know to check whether AI-generated data work is right, and explain why.
What you’ll do
- Review and assess data work, including SQL, pipelines and analytics reports.
- Give clear, detailed written feedback on correctness and reasoning.
- Create realistic tasks, reference solutions and evaluation criteria from your own experience.
- Contribute to projects across ETL/ELT, orchestration and experimentation.
What we’re looking for
- 3–5+ years building and owning production data pipelines.
- Strong SQL and Python.
- Experience as a data, analytics or data platform engineer, or as a data architect.
Nice to have
- You’ve owned a warehouse or pipeline end to end.
- You’ve debugged silent data-quality failures.
- You’ve run or critiqued A/B tests.
- Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks certifications.

Pay and terms
- $60–$120 per hour, paid weekly. Where you sit in the range depends on your experience, and each project’s rate is agreed in writing before you start.
- Independent contractor, fully remote. Work at the times that suit you, about 10–20 hours a week.
- Projects run from a few weeks to a few months. Work depends on project availability and isn’t guaranteed.
