The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City’s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed at moving the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, volunteers and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledge experts.

Under the direction of the Director of Commissary the DOC seeks to recruit a Commissary Operations Manager to provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Commissary in overseeing the Department's commissary. The selected candidate's responsibilities will include but are not limited:

-Assist with the daily coordination and administration of commissary operations across multiple
correctional facilities.
-Serve as a liaison between the Director/ AC, commissary vendor, Department staff, and
external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
-Coordinate meetings, maintain calendars, prepare agendas, and recorded meeting notes
and action items.
-Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, reports, memoranda,
and other official communications.
-Assist in monitoring vendor performance and ensuring compliance with contractual
obligations and Department requirements.
-Support the preparation, review, and submission of contract-related documents,
performance evaluations, and vendor reports.
