AI Automation Engineer

About this role

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Candidates MUST be local to the United States (Eastern or Central time zone preferred). This role is not open to C2C, OPT, or and Visa consideration. No vendor support allowed.

We are seeking an
AI Agent Engineer
with hands-on experience in
Microsoft Copilot Studio
to join our Corporate IT and Operational Excellence teams as an embedded resource. This is not a project-based role—you will operate as a day-to-day member of the team, focused on building, scaling, and sustaining enterprise-grade AI agents.

This role emphasizes
governance, operational readiness, and long-term sustainability
over one-off delivery. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of technical expertise, process discipline, and collaboration skills to ensure AI solutions are production-ready, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and enhance
AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio
for approved enterprise use cases
- Develop and maintain
Power Automate flows
to support agent functionality, adhering to internal standards and governance practices
- Follow and enforce structured deployment processes, including
non-production → UAT → production promotion models
(no direct production changes)
- Ensure all AI agents are
production-ready
, including proper documentation, monitoring, and supportability
- Collaborate closely with
Corporate IT and Operational Excellence teams
to align solutions with business needs and enterprise architecture
- Partner with internal staff through
pairing sessions, knowledge transfer, and enablement activities
to build internal capability
- Support
governance frameworks
, including security, compliance, and lifecycle management of AI agents and automation workflows
- Troubleshoot and optimize agents and workflows to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance
